Katey Sagal
Katey Sagal, an actress/singer who is
extremely skilled and adept in drama and comedy she was a well-known name when
she appeared on Peg Bundy (Fox series Married... with Children 1987). She
received two American Comedy Award nominations and three Golden Globes over its
lengthy duration. Peg Bundy was a well-known and popular character, however
Katey continued to play her part when the show's end. She starred in several
sitcoms and portrayed characters that were opposites to the outrageous role
that earned her national recognition. She was Gemma Teller Morrow in Sons of
Anarchy (2008) as the matriarch of the Hell's Angels-like California biker
clan. In 2011, her performance earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best
Performance by an Actress in the field of Television Series Drama. Catherine
Louise Sagal is the daughter of Sara Zwilling (director and singer) and Boris
Sagal (film and television director). When she was five, she began performing
in Los Angeles. She also trained in voice and acting at the California
Institute of the Arts, Valencia, California. As a waitress who sang during her
"salad" years, she started performing with the band "The Group
With No name," then caught a break when she connected with Gene Simmons
and his 1970s rock group KISS. She also gained experience as a backup singer
for Simmons and other stars such as Bob Dylan and Etta James. She was also
dynamic performing live with the diva Bette Midler as one of her
"Harlettes" in Bette's wildly avant-garde stage shows during the
latter part of the 1970s and into the early 1980s.
